ここは京都の名勝嵐山、世界文化遺産 嵯峨天龍寺。
この寺院、後醍醐天皇の菩提を弔う為に足利尊氏が建立したのは有名な話だが、この敷地はとても広い！
南側は僅かな敷地を隔てて嵐山の大堰川に面し、北側には嵯峨野の竹林が広がる。そして西側に私がもっとも気に入っている曹源池庭園がある。この庭園、中央の曹源池を囲むように巡っている池泉回遊式庭園で、特に紅葉時、この曹源池越しに見える南側の嵐山と西側の亀山の借景は見事な物だ。
