その日、やわらかな春風が甘い梅の香りを運んできた。北野天満宮の梅苑は、50種、1500本の紅白の花で彩られている。くれない、うすべに、しろみどりに純白。微妙な色合いの、大きさも様々な梅の花が競い合うように咲き乱れる。花のトンネルを楽しそうに歩く人々。境内の至る所にいる牛（祭神の使者）も、可憐な花の下で春の一日を楽しんでいるようであった。
