This exhibition features 20 graduates of the Online Graduate Program in Fine Arts at Kyoto University of the Arts, from across Japan, ranging in age from 20s to 80s.

The artists come from diverse backgrounds—including a chef, farmer, acupuncturist, translator, dancer, and teachers—who have pursued art as a form of lifelong learning. Through a flexible online program, they have developed works shaped by personal experiences, philosophical reflection, and renewed approaches to creativity.

The exhibition highlights the intersection of art and life across generations, showing how creative expression can emerge from varied careers and life stages.

Highlights of the Exhibition

  1. Artists from diverse walks of life
The 20 participating artists include a chef, farmer, teacher, acupuncturist, translator, dancer, and more, representing different regions and perspectives shaped through their graduate studies.
  2. Art as a second chapter of life
Balancing work, family, and study, the artists explore new directions through painting, expressing personal insights and reflections developed during their master’s studies.
  3. Art in Kyoto’s cultural setting
Set in The Museum of Kyoto, the exhibition brings these artists together in a historic cultural hub, where their works engage with the city’s rich heritage.
