The old inn town of Akasawa-juku is well worth visiting for the views, the history, the beauty and the peace of the place, however there are no shops and only one restaurant. Luckily it's a good one. They serve hand-made soba noodles, tempura, and various side dishes making good use of fresh local vegetables and other ingredients.
