Historic buildings take on a whole new personality after dark, and this autumn visitors to Nagoya will have the chance to see two of the city's architectural landmarks transformed through light, color, and digital art during AICHI NAGOYA ART & LIGHTS.

The free evening event will use projection mapping and illuminations to bring the facades of the Aichi Prefectural Government Building and Nagoya City Hall to life. Both buildings are designated Important Cultural Properties, making the event a unique blend of heritage and contemporary creativity.

Presented under the theme "AICHI NAGOYA GRAND SPECTRUM - A City of Co-Creation Where Diverse Lights Intersect," the experience alternates between digital art projections and architectural lighting displays in short five-minute segments. Rather than simply illuminating the buildings, the projections use them as giant canvases, highlighting their distinctive architecture while creating an ever-changing visual spectacle.

For travelers, it's an opportunity to experience Nagoya from a different perspective. While the city is well known for attractions such as Nagoya Castle, its thriving food scene, and its manufacturing heritage, AICHI NAGOYA ART & LIGHTS adds another reason to stay out after sunset. The event showcases how modern technology can complement historic architecture, creating an experience that appeals to art lovers, photographers, and anyone looking to enjoy the city's evening atmosphere.

Admission is free and no advance reservations are required, making it an easy addition to a Nagoya itinerary. As the projections unfold against two of the city's most recognizable civic buildings, visitors can enjoy a memorable fusion of history, culture, and digital innovation in the heart of Aichi Prefecture.
