Venerable Fushimi temple virtually unknown to tourists

While tourists don't really know about this Fushimi temple, it is well respected by local people. There has been a temple on this site since 1130. Fudo-myo, the god of fire, is enshrined here. The current main hall was once the palace of the Emperor Higashiyama, and was moved to this site in 1712. I visited here after admiring plum blossoms at nearby Jonangu. It was late in the day, and the low sunlight illuminated the buildings and statues.
