Watching the sun set over the ocean at the Hinomisaki Lighthouse in Shimane Prefecture is a great way to end a day in Izumo.
On a clear evening you can see the sky ignite into brilliant colors as day fades into night. Typically there are few people at the lighthouse at dusk, but the folks who are there often have picnics and climb the rock formations just before sundown.
Watching the sun sink behind the blue sea at Hinomisaki Lighthouse is both serene and stunning.
