Sapporo is set to welcome a new hotel this autumn, with Hyatt Centric Sapporo now accepting reservations for stays from December 1, 2026.

Located in the Urban Net Sapporo Link Tower, the new 216-room hotel puts travelers within easy reach of some of the city's best-known sights. It's around a 10-minute walk from JR Sapporo Station via underground walkways and about six minutes from Odori Station, with Odori Park and the former Hokkaido Government Office Building, also known as the Red Brick Building, nearby.

Designed around the concept of "an explorer's residence," the hotel takes inspiration from Hokkaido's northern character. Reclaimed wood, horse tack motifs, straw art and a fireplace are incorporated throughout the property, creating a warm atmosphere that contrasts with Sapporo's snowy winters.

All rooms are at least 36 square meters, with many offering expansive city views. Options include mountain-view rooms and rooms overlooking the Red Brick Building, while the nine suites include the 116-square-meter Centric Suite with a terrace.

Dining is another major focus. Matsu Grill & Bar will serve wood-fired dishes using local ingredients, while the first-floor Mr. Fish by Hyatt Centric Sapporo will offer fish and chips paired with Hokkaido craft beer. A lounge with a fireplace provides another spot to relax after exploring the city, and there's also a 24-hour fitness center featuring ski-inspired decor.

Reservations opened August 12, with special opening offers available for stays through December 31. These include 15% off regular rates, a breakfast offer and a 3,000 JPY hotel credit package. World of Hyatt members can also earn 500 bonus points per eligible night through January 31, 2027.

For travelers planning a Sapporo winter trip, the new Hyatt Centric could make a particularly appealing base for exploring Hokkaido's capital.
