เดือนมกราคมเป็นเวลาที่ดีเยี่ยมในการไปเยี่ยมชมอิเสะ (Ise) ภูมิภาคมิเอะ (Mie) และสถานที่ท่องเที่ยวเรืองชื่อที่สุดของอิเสะ ศาลเจ้าอิเสะที่ยิ่งใหญ่ ที่ประกอบไปด้วยศาลเจ้าชินโตน้อยใหญ่ถึง 125 ศาลเจ้า รายล้อมรอบๆ ศาลเจ้าหลัก 2 ศาลเจ้า ศาลเจ้าไนกุ (Naiku) และ ศาลเจ้าเกะกุ (Geku) ฝูงชนที่มาในวันปีใหม่สร้างบรรยากาศเทศกาล แต่ก็ยังมีสถานที่เงียบสงบให้แวะชมท่ามกลางหมู่ศาลเจ้าทั้งหลาย
