ผมกำลังเดินทางไปโรงละครตอนที่ผ่านห้างมิสึโกะชิ (Mitsukoshi department store) ในนิฮงบาชิ (Nihonbashi) และสังเกตเห็นบรรดารูปปั้นที่น่าประทับใจที่นั่น เหล่ารูปปั้นสิงโตและรูปปั้นนางฟ้า (天女 - ภาษาญี่ปุ่น) ขนาดใหญ่ รูปปั้นสิงโตทั้งหลายถูกสร้างขึ้นโดยมีรูปปั้นที่จัตุรัสทราฟัลการ์ (Trafalgar Square) ในนครลอนดอนเป็นต้นแบบ และได้ถูกนำมาติดตั้งที่ตำแหน่งปัจจุบันในปี 2457 นอกจากนี้ยังมีรูปปั้นเทพธิดาแห่งความจริงใจ ซึ่งนักปั้นฝีมือเอกใช้เวลาถึง 10 ปีในการรังสรรค์ผลงานชิ้นนี้ รูปปั้นนี้ถูกยกขึ้นตั้งในห้องโถงกลลาง (central hall) บนชั้นหนึ่งของตึกหลักในปี 2503 ซึ่งผู้คนสามารถชื่นชมได้จากทุกๆชั้น
